Enrollment Brochure of Full-Scholarship for Overseas Students from ASEAN Countries Granted by Guangxi Government and Sponsored by NNNU
Nanning Normal University is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Its previous title was called Guangxi Teacher Training College founded in 1953. With the approval of the State Council in December 1978, it became a full-time normal college enrolling ordinary undergraduates in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In 1998, the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council authorized it to enroll MA postgraduates. In 2013, it was approved as the newly added construction unit to issue doctoral degree in Guangxi. On November 30, 2018, the Ministry of Education approved the new name of Nanning Normal University. In 2009, with the approval of Guangxi Government, the University was authorized to admit foreign students of ASEAN countries under Guangxi government scholarship.

First: Enrollment Category
Full time undergraduate and postgraduate students
Second: Application Conditions:
1. Students from ASEAN countries (Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia);
2. Applying for undergraduate education: high school graduates, with high school graduation GPA 2.2 or above and HSK score of level 4. If HSK score does not reach level 4 before application, the applicants can apply for Chinese training for one year. The applicants shall not be older than 25 (before August 30 of the application year).
3. Applying for postgraduate education: undergraduates with bachelor degree, with GPA 2.2 or above and HSK score of level 5. If HSK score does not reach level 5 at the time of application, the applicants can apply for Chinese training for one year. In principle, the applied postgraduate major shall be the same or similar to the undergraduate major. The applicants shall not be older than 35 (before August 30 of the application year).
4. Be friendly to China and in good physical and mental health condition.
Three: Enrollment programs:
The applicants can refer to the program guide for international students of Nanning Normal University (Annex 1) to select a major.
Four: Guangxi government’s scholarship program for overseas students from ASEAN countries:
1. Free of registration fee, tuition fee and in-school accommodation fee;
2. Monthly basic living expenses will be provided;
3. Guangxi government provides comprehensive medical insurance for overseas students from ASEAN countries.
4. In addition to the above expenses, other expenses (visa, residence permit, physical examination, international travel, utilities fee, network, etc.) shall be borne by the students own.
Five: Application method and materials to be submitted (in triplicate):
1. Application form of Guangxi government for overseas students from ASEAN countries (full scholarship) should be filled in Chinese or English and pasted with the photo of the applicant (see Annex 2);
2. Both photocopy and electronic scanned copy of valid passport;
3. Notarized highest academic certificate and transcript. Texts in foreign languages other than Chinese and English shall be submitted to a notary office for notarization into Chinese or English translation (notarization can be conducted at the notary office of the Chinese Embassy in the local area);
4. Study and research plan in China (no less than 200 words, written in Chinese or English);
5. Postgraduate applicants must submit a letter of recommendation issued by two professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English (it must be in the form of official letterhead and attach the contact information of the professors);
6. Both photocopy and electronic scanned copy of HSK score certificate (it shall be provided if there being any);
7. A copy of the physical examination form for foreigners within the 6-month validity period (6 months before May 31 of the application year) (see Annex 3). This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese health and quarantine department. The applicants must go through all the items strictly in accordance with the foreigner’s physical examination form. The forms with any missing items, without personal photos or cross seal on the photos or without the signature and seal of doctors and hospitals are invalid.
Six: Application deadline:
The above paper and electronic materials must be submitted to the Department of International Affairs of Nanning Normal University before May 31 of the application year.
Seven: Admission notice and check-in:
1. Nanning Normal University will review the application materials of all applicants and submit the admission list and relevant application materials to the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for approval.
2. Nanning Normal University will send the “Visa Application Form For Foreign Students (Form JW202)” and the “Admission Notice” to the students to apply for visa to China from July to August of the application year.
3. September will be the check-in time (the specific date is subject to the notice), and students will come to the school for registration by themselves. If reception at the airport and station is needed, the expenses will be borne by the students.
